Nicole was introduced to Joni’s music in her early twenties at a time when she felt like she needed guidance and found inspiration in the works. After listening to the album, “Clouds”, she decided that she needed to learn every song on the recording. It sparked a new love for playing guitar which she had been already playing for years. The strange, dissonant chords that Mitchell uses has influenced Gauthier’s own writing style. She now accompanies herself on guitar, ukulele or dulcimer to cover these classic songs live, in a tribute that brings audiences to their feet and has them singing along.
