
The mission of Hear In Rhode Island is to foster the composition and performance of original music of Rhode Island songwriters and musicians by providing paid performance opportunities for these artists, as well as provide the general public with free events to hear and engage with local, regional and national musical artists.

The Rhode Island Folk Festival is a FREE folk music festival at Crescent Park in East Providence> This year it will be held on Sunday, August 30 from 12-6pm. The Rhode Island Folk Festival will have three stages of live folk music from National, Regional and local RI musicians, as well as a children's tent, open song circle and songwriting workshop. Vendors will be selling food and art along the path that connect the stages. There is also a beer garden. RhodeIslandFolkFestival.com

On Sunday, April 26, Hear In Rhode Island (HIRI), producer of the Rhode Island Folk Festival (RIFF), will present a fundraising tribute concert to legendary folk performer, Pete Seeger at the Greenwich Odeum in East Greenwich, RI. Hear In Rhode Island is a non profit 501(c)(3) organization that was established in 1994 to present music events and educate the public about local music as well as the importance of music in people’s lives. All performers will perform songs written or recorded by Pete Seeger. Scheduled to appear are; Mark Cutler (Schemers, Raindogs, Men Of Great Courage); Ed McGuirl, Jack
Moore & Joe Lambiase; Avi Jacob (Hawk In The Nest), Beth Barron, Dan Lilley & Amy Bedard (The Keepers, Forever Young), Katherine Quinn, Lisa Couto, Anthony Loffredio and Barn Burning, Pete Vendettuoli (Forever Young, Free Radicals), and Kim Petrarca. Ken Abrams,
editor at Hey Rhody Media will host the show. Performers will also share brief anecdotes of their connection to Pete or to his music. All proceeds will benefit the 2026 Rhode
Island Folk Festival which will take place on August 30 at Crescent Park in East Providence, RI. RIFF is a free music festival that is now in its 12th year.
